1.   Power supplies

David Price editor of Hi Fi World said of the A.N.T. Phono Stage Ltd  linear PSU   " It's gorgeous.  Changes the sound surprisingly much actually. Makes it ..  more explicit.   Big difference through my system."

The long awaited Phono Stage linear power supply is now in stock, this together with the new colour retailing packing has completely finished this outstanding phono stage.  Dealers and distributors may send their invoice number to us for a free set of the new packing and a free linear power supply for every Ltd phono stage they have.  Details of the power supplies are below.

The standard switch mode PSU for SE & Classic models.  Unlike a lot of SMPS this unit is built to our specification with extraordinarily low RFI and no EMI at all.  These sort of SMPS's are often used in medical applications.  With an input range of 90 - 253 volts it will work from the low voltage areas of Japan to the high voltages in the UK, and everywhere else in fact!

For Ltd. models this fully fledged linear power supply has virtually no RFI or EMI.  It has been designed with the best available components:  Panasonic FC low ESR capacitors, National Semiconductor LM317HVT regulator in low noise configuration, schottky rectifiers and a 2 ounce plated through printed circuit board.  All this is hand made near Cambridge in the UK.

This interior photograph of our Ltd. linear power supply shows the Panasonic FC capacitors.  One way to get a very low output impedance is to use a large storage capacitor and  that is exactly what we do as you can see. There are two versions:  90-126V for 100/110/120 volt and 216-253V for 220/230/240 volt power.

2.   "Rock & roll"   New Headphone amplifier rocks

Max Townshend of the infamous Turntable rocks to the prototype A.N.T. Amber headphone amplifier.  Using all FETs in a Class A configuration this is the audiophile headphone amplifier everyone has been waiting for.  Initially there will be two versions, the Classic at £199.00 and the SE at £299.00 normal margins apply.  We are taking orders now for delivery before Christmas.

3.   Small News

  • Our low jitter Grimm Clock works very well on the new Marantz Pearl PM-KI, drawing everything together and smoothing out the bumps.

  • In the vinyl world it appears there is more opportunity to upgrade a phono stage than a turntable?  Had you considered offering a free trial on an A.N.T. Ltd, very few come back!

  • In the next news we will cover our cartridge stabiliser and the matching cartridge de-resonator.  Both are backed by firm theory and can often work really well.
